Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL) has announced that flight operations at Mumbai Airport will be suspended for six hours on October 17 to facilitate post-monsoon maintenance on two cross runways. This temporary closure is part of the airport’s annual preventive maintenance schedule and a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued six months prior.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has announced that the cross runways, RWY 09/27 and RWY 14/32, will be temporarily closed for maintenance on October 17, 2024, from 11 AM to 5 PM. This closure is part of the airport’s comprehensive post-monsoon runway maintenance plan.

The statement mentioned that flight schedules had been meticulously coordinated in advance, in partnership with key stakeholders, to guarantee uninterrupted operations and a successful implementation of the post-monsoon runway maintenance.

The primary purpose of the planned closure is to undertake essential repair and maintenance activities to ensure that the airport’s infrastructure meets international standards.
