IndiGo’s strategic partnerships with major airlines will be instrumental in providing Delta passengers with seamless connectivity to Indian destinations. These codeshare agreements allow passengers to book a single itinerary, even though the flights may be operated by different airlines.

Delta’s decision to resume direct flights to India marks a significant milestone in the airline’s operations. The return of these routes, which include Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai, will provide passengers with more convenient and direct travel options to India. In addition, Delta’s partnership with IndiGo could offer passengers access to IndiGo lounges.

Bastian indicated that Delta is actively working to launch nonstop flights to India. While a specific timeline wasn’t given, he suggested that passengers could expect these flights to become available within the next couple of years.

The A350-1000’s extended range is a key advantage for Delta’s potential flights to India. This wider-bodied aircraft can accommodate more passengers and cargo, making it a more efficient and profitable option, especially considering the current geopolitical constraints.
