IATA Introduces IATA Connect: A Platform for Aviation Safety

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has introduced IATA Connect, a secure platform designed to foster collaboration among aviation professionals. This online community brings together experts in safety, security, compliance, and operations from airlines, regulatory agencies, and auditors. Initially focusing on the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), IATA Connect enables members to securely share safety documentation, exchange information, and work together to enhance aviation safety standards.

IATA Introduces IATA Connect: A Platform for Aviation Safety

IATA Connect will serve as a comprehensive platform for aviation safety and compliance, expanding beyond the IOSA Registry. The platform will include a secure repository for storing and accessing critical documents related to IOSA audits, standards, guidance materials, airline profiles, industry alerts, and news. This centralized repository will offer valuable analytical and benchmarking capabilities, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions based on data-driven insights.

IATA Connect has invited approximately 2,300 aviation safety professionals to join its community. This platform brings together regulators, IOSA-registered airlines, and auditors, creating a valuable network for collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of aviation safety.

“IATA Connect will provide aviation safety and compliance professionals in government and the industry with a means to make flying even safer by facilitating real time collaboration. Whether it is sharing an IOSA audit report, responding to a compliance questionnaire, updating information on codeshare partners, benchmarking resources, or information gathering, IATA Connect will bring new efficiencies and greater capabilities. By collecting critical IOSA audit data in a single location, keeping it updated, and making the mechanics of information exchange easier, IATA Connect will be a compelling tool for everyone involved in aviation safety compliance and oversight.”  IATA’s Director General, Willie Walsh Said

IATA Connect addresses a critical challenge faced by safety professionals: managing the growing volume of compliance documentation. As operations expand, regulatory requirements become more stringent, and operational environments become increasingly complex, the need for a centralized platform to exchange audit information and documentation becomes paramount. IATA Connect is designed to streamline these processes, significantly enhancing efficiency and facilitating compliance efforts.

IATA Connect is designed to serve as a centralized platform for aviation professionals to collaborate and exchange information related to safety and compliance. Accessible via a mobile app, the platform integrates two essential IATA safety offerings: Safety Connect and the Safety Issue Hub. Safety Connect provides a secure forum for discussions and resources specific to operational areas, while the Safety Issue Hub shares information on hazards and safety risks to facilitate targeted improvement programs. IATA plans to expand IATA Connect over time, incorporating additional features to meet the evolving needs of aviation safety professionals.
