A computer number is a unique identification number issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to each student. It act as student ID given by DGCA to every Pilot student But the point to be noted is that, each student gets a different computer number.

Think of it as your permanent “student ID” with DGCA authority. This number helps in many platforms like: – 

• Register you in the DGCA database. 

• Track your flight training and pilot examination records. 

• Allow you to book Pilot License Examinations  

• Keep all your relevant documents under one place. 

Without this number, you cannot even appear for DGCA exams. 

Eligibility for apply computer number 

There are some eligibility criteria that should be up to date while applying for computer number like:- 

1. Educational Qualification:-  

• Student should have passed class 12 with physics and maths as main subjects. 

• Should be passed from a recognised board. 

2. Age Requirement:- 

• It is important that age of student should be 17 or above though CPL requires 18+ 

3.  Medical Fitness:- 

• having a DGCA Class 1 or Class 2 Medical is strongly advised before investing time and money.

Before applying for the DGCA computer number, it is advice to always double check for the documents listed below :- 

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS 

• Class 10 marksheet and certificates 

• Class 12 marksheet and certificates  

• Passport first and last page is mandatory to submit  

• Adhaar card as identity proof  

• Passport size photographs  

• Scanned signatures

Step by Step road map for applying DGCA computer number  

2. Register at Pariksha portal– go to https://pariksha.dgca.gov.in/, choose flight crew section to register for CPL DGCA computer number
3. Fill in personal details – In the pariksha portal you would be required to fill your personal details like  

• Full name 

• Date of birth 

• Nationality 

• Address 

• Class 10^th and 12^th educational details

3. Upload the required Documents – Upload scanned copies in the format they asked for: 

• The scanned copies can be in the form of JPEG or PDF format 

• The copies should be readable, clear and scanned properly oriented  

• Remember the size of the file should be as per mentioned in the portal  

4.  Applying for the computer number:  

Once your profile is completed the next step comes for applying DGCA computer number generation 

• There will be an option of “Computer Number Generation” select such option 

• Submit your application for verification. 

Note – This is the stage when DGCA officials go through with your applications  

• DGCA verification process – Before issuing computer number to students, DGCA usually verify academic eligibility with related board, match details all over the documents. 

After 2 – 6 weeks of processing time the computer number is generated and gets appeared in your DGCA pariksha portal. After checking your computer number, you can book a DGCA theory exams. 

Expiry date of DGCA computer number 

Usually, a computer number is valid for lifetime and remains same even if you change your flying school. This number is used for all future DGCA exam

Now DGCA computer number can be generated on the same day by using Digi locker. Recently, DGCA officially introduced the auto-generation of computer number. This system eliminate the long verification process of documents, and all the documents get verified by Digi locker, follow the step below-

1. Creation of Digi locker profile by linking to your Aadhar linked mobile number  

2. Check for your class 12^th and 10^th marksheet and board certificates

3. Download the documents  

4. Upload clear copies from Digi Locker while applying on the DGCA Pariksha portal
